Eine gut ausgerüstete Küche vor Ort kann für viele Communities ein wichtiger Faktor sein, ihre Veranstaltungen bei Berlin Global Village auszurichten. Die Community-Küche (14,4 m2) und der dazu gehörige Pausenraum (19,67 m2) stellen keine vollwertige Gastroküche dar. Im Sinne von Diversität und Community-Building wurde die Küche aber so konzipiert, dass auch Communities mit Essenskulturen, die intensive Gerüche produzieren, hier gut aufgehoben sind ohne anzuecken. Wie alle Räume im Neubau ist auch die Community-Küche barrierearm zugänglich und kann von allen zivilgesellschaftlichen Akteur*innen, engagierten Privatpersonen und interessierten kommerziellen Anbieter*innen im Rahmen der Eine-Welt-Arbeit gegen eine Nutzungsgebühr angemietet werden.
Die Küche kann sowohl zusätzlich zu den Veranstaltungsräumen als auch einzeln für Veranstaltungen gebucht werden (Buchungsanfragen bitte über https://www.berlin-global-village.de/vermietung/ ).
Diversity und Inklusionsansätze via Küchen-Kultur
Im Umfeld von migrantisch-diasporischen Communities finden sich viele Angebote rund ums Kochen. BGV geht hier mit der Community-Küche neue Wege. Zielgruppe sind Menschen aus den erweiterten Netzwerken dieser Communities, die ihre sozialen Netzwerke sonst eher in halböffentlichen Räumen der Neuköllner Nachbarschaft pflegen. Der thematische Abbau von Barrieren über die Community-Küche insbesondere für Nachbarschaften im Kiez und das Öffnen von BGV unter Inklusionsgesichtspunkten soll niederschwellige Zugänge ermöglichen. Um auch innerhalb von BGV den Zugang zur Community-Küche solidarisch zu gestalten, werden jeden Monat Zeitkontingente geblockt, die für ein kostenlose Nutzung vorgesehen sind:

a Migrantisch-diasporische Organisationen von BGV
können ein Kontingent von insgesamt 3 Tagen im Monat kostenfrei buchen
b Andere Mitglieder*innen und Mieter*innen von BGV
können bei finanziellen Engpässen insgesamt ein Kontingent von 2 Tagen im Monat kostenfrei buchen.

Berlin Global Village opens community – kitchen as an element for cultural exchange and community building around cooking and eating.
A well-equipped kitchen on site can be an important factor for many communities to host their events at BGV. The community kitchen (14.4 m2) and associated break room (19.67 m2) do not constitute a fully equipped catering kitchen. However, to foster diversity and community-building, the kitchen was designed to accommodate communities with food cultures that produce intense odors without causing frustration for other users of BGV. Like all rooms in the new building, the community Kitchen is accessible without barriers and can be rented by all civil society actors, committed private individuals and interested commercial providers within the framework of one-world work for a usage fee.
The kitchen can be booked in addition to the event rooms as well as individually for events (booking inquiries please via https://www.berlin-global-village.de/vermietung/).
Diversity and inclusion approaches via kitchen culture
In the environment of migrant-diasporic communities, many offers can be found related to food and cooking. BGV is offering a different approach here with the community kitchen. The target group is people from the extended networks of these communities, who otherwise tend to maintain social networks in semi-public spaces in the Neukölln neighborhood. The thematic breaking down of barriers via the community kitchen, especially for neighborhoods in the Kiez, and the opening up of BGV from an inclusion point of view should enable low-threshold access. In order to enable access to the community kitchen also within BGV from a perspective of solidarity, time quotas are blocked every month, which are intended for a non-commercial usage:
