Naum Butoto, der Direktor der kongolesischen Partnerorganisation von SODI UGEAFI, ist am 13.10.21 zu Besuch in Berlin. Damit bietet sich eine besondere Gelegenheit zum Austausch, zu dem wir Sie herzlich einladen möchten.
UGEAFI ist unter anderem in der Region Süd-Kivu, nordwestlich des Tanganjikasees tätig. In der Projektregion gibt es zurzeit etwa 34.000 Binnenflüchtlinge aus Nachbarregionen in der DR Kongo. Dazu kommen allein in den Flüchtlingslagern Lusenda und Mulongwe weitere 38.000 Geflüchtete aus Burundi. Die bereits bestehende Ressourcenknappheit in der Region wird somit verstärkt und es kommt immer wieder zu Verteilungs- und Interessenkonflikten zwischen den verschiedenen Bevölkerungsgruppen, die hier aufeinandertreffen. Teilweise sind diese auch gewaltsam.
Gemeinsam mit Naum Butoto wollen wir über friedensbildende Maßnahmen anhand konkreter Beispiele in Süd-Kivu sprechen. Im Zentrum der Diskussionsveranstaltung soll die Frage stehen, wie entwicklungspolitische Maßnahmen im Kontext von bewaffneten Konflikten umgesetzt werden können.

Naum Butoto, the director of SODIs Congolese partner organization UGEAFI, is visiting Berlin on 13.10.21. This offers a special opportunity for exchange, to which we would like to cordially invite you.
UGEAFI is active in the region of South Kivu, northwest of Lake Tanganyika. In the project region there are currently about 34,000 internally displaced persons from neighboring regions in the DR Congo. In addition, there are another 38,000 refugees from Burundi in the Lusenda and Mulongwe refugee camps alone. The already existing scarcity of resources in the region is thus exacerbated, and conflicts of distribution and interest between the various population groups that clash here occur time and again. Sometimes these are also violent.
Together with Naum Butoto we want to talk about peacebuilding measures based on concrete examples in South Kivu. The discussion will focus on the question of how development policy measures can be implemented in the context of armed conflicts.
